EUGENE, OR (KPTV) -

A man and woman who moved their counterfeit DVD business from Eugene to New Hampshire after receiving warnings from authorities have been sentenced in federal court.

Sidney A. Lucas, 34, was sentenced Aug. 25 to 33 months in prison and ordered to forfeit $100,000 from DVD sales and money laundering, according to investigators.

His girlfriend, Katrice R. Cleary, 24, was sentenced to three years supervised release and ordered to pay $50,000.

Investigators said they sold more than $400,000 worth of counterfeit DVDs of Disney movies and TV shows online that were imported from China.

They sold the DVDs through the business name Elements Wholesale Media that was operated out of Lucas' Eugene home, according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.

Investigators said Cleary was actively involved with the management of the company's website.

After receiving multiple notices and having several packages seized, Lucas and Cleary abruptly moved their online business and home to Laconia, New Hampshire, where they continued to receive packages from China containing counterfeit DVDs, according to investigators.

Homeland Security special agents executed search warrants at the couple's New Hampshire home in April 2015 and arrested Lucas and Cleary.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the MPAA assisted HSI in the investigation. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon prosecuted the case.
