HALSEY, OR (KPTV) -

Deputies with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a tanker truck carrying sulfuric acid going off the road and rolling into a field Thursday.

According to deputies, the truck was the only vehicle involved in the incident on American Drive west of Powerline Road.

Deputies said the tanker came to rest on its side in a field off the road and did experience some minor leakage. They did note, though, that there was no concern of a risk to the public.

A Haz-Mat team is standing by to assist a replacement tanker truck that will arrive to off-load the acid.

The driver of the tanker, 69-year-old Dawn Loftis of Woodland, Washington, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Deputies noted there were no road closures at this time.
