PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A woman and her brother were arrested on assault charges after the woman stabbed a man in southeast Portland, according to police.

Emergency crews were called to the 1200 block of Southeast Ash Street at 9:47 p.m. Thursday.

A 33-year-old man who had been stabbed was found at the scene. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries, but police said he is expected to survive.

Officers learned the stabbing suspect was a woman who was accompanied by at least one man.

Both suspects were quickly located and taken into custody without incident.

Ella Louise Gill, 61, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on the charge of second-degree assault. Her brother, 59-year-old Darnell Lee Gill, was arrested on the charge of third-degree assault.

Darnell Gill was released from jail on his own recognizance, while Ella Gill remained behind bars Friday.

Darnell Gill's charge was increased to second-degree assault by the district attorney's office, however he failed to appear in court Friday and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Investigators said the suspects and the victim all knew each other and have had an ongoing dispute. No other details were released about the investigation.
