PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A Portland woman says someone has broken into her house three times in two days, and she says she was inside the home the last time they tried to get in.

Chelsea Wahler said she can't figure out why somebody would target her home near Southeast 136th and Powell. She says there are no valuables inside, and after three burglaries, the only thing that was taken was a small amount of leftover pain medication from a recent dentist appointment.

The first burglary was reported on August 26. Wahler said she noticed somebody had broken into home as soon as she walked up to her porch.

Portland police responded and told her to sleep somewhere else that night, which she did.

When Wahler came home about 12 hours later, she noticed that someone broke in once again. But the thief, or thieves, were nowhere to be found and nothing was taken.

The third break-in happened Saturday night, when Wahler said she woke up to see someone trying to open her bedroom window.

"I got scared and I pushed myself up against my wall, because I didn't know what else to do, and it was right next to me. But at that point I'm like, they're going to come into my home, I'm going to get out through my room. And I started yelling for my brother."

Wahler said once she started yelling, the burglar, or burglars, took off.

Police took fingerprints but she hasn't heard back.

Wahler said she's especially concerned because she has an 18-month-old baby, and it doesn't seem like whoever is breaking in has found what they're looking for.

Wahler said she is thinking about applying for a concealed weapons permit. Meanwhile, she hopes that one of her neighbors might have noticed something unusual that will help solve the crime.
