PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A bright light streaked across the sky over Oregon and Washington late Friday night.

According to the American Meteor Society website, there were more than 130 reported sightings.

The website shows people from Medford, Oregon to Port Angeles, Washington reported seeing the fireball just before midnight.

Reddit user Erik Cook recorded partial video of the bright light and posted it on YouTube.

Many Redditors speculated that the fireball was a meteor.

As of Saturday morning, there wasn't any official word on what caused the bright flash of light.

The annual Perseid meteor shower, which was unusually active this year, just took place last month.
