Robbery suspect arrested after standoff with police in Newberg

NEWBERG, OR (KPTV) -

A man wanted in connection with multiple robberies was arrested after a standoff with officers in Newberg. 

According to the Newberg-Dundee Police Department, just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday, officers learned that a wanted subject, 55-year-old Dale William Martineau, was hiding in a trailer at the Chehalem Mobile Park, located at 217 Old Highway 99W. 

Police say Martineau had warrants for his arrest and was wanted for robberies that occurred in Washington County. 

Officers surrounded the trailer he was in with the help of Yamhill County sheriff’s deputies.  Residents in the immediate area were evacuated. Officers the announced over a loudspeaker for Martineau to come out, but he refused. 

With the assistance of the Oregon State Police special weapons and tactics team, Martineau was taken into custody without injury shortly after midnight. Officers from the Tualatin Police Department and Beaverton Police Department also assisted. 

Martineau was lodged at the Yamhill County Jail. There is no security amount listed as he is being held on several warrants.
