GLADSTONE, OR (KPTV/AP) -

Gladstone firefighters are investigating two suspicious fires that started several blocks away from each other overnight.

Gladstone Fire Department said one fire started around 10:30 p.m. Sunday at 380 West Arlington Street and suffered about $100,000 in damage.

The second fire started around 1 a.m. at 110 East Clackamas Boulevard, about three blocks away from the first fire.

Firefighters said both houses were vacant and for sale. Both homes are now uninhabitable.

Fire investigators said both fires started outside of the homes and spread to the interiors.

GFD said while on scene at the second fire, firefighters noticed a potential third suspicious fire scene at a neighboring home.  Crews said it was possibly an unsuccessful attempt to start another fire.

Arson investigators have been called in to analyze the incident.
