WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A former Washington County deputy was sentenced to probation and community service after previously pleading guilty to charges of coercion, strangulation and official misconduct.

Jonathan Christensen pleaded guilty in July and was sentenced in court Tuesday.

Christensen was indicted by a grand jury in December 2015. He was fired from the Washington County Sheriff's Office in August 2015 based on evidence related to a restraining order against him.

The investigation began in April 2015 when the Washington County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous email accusing Jonathan Christensen and other deputies of misconduct. Investigators said at the time that most of the allegations were sexual in nature and involved female co-workers.

Christensen was sentenced Tuesday to two years probation and 80 hours community service. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and must pay her $12,000 in restitution.

Christensen must also complete an anger management program, voluntarily decertify from the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training and he cannot seek work as a law enforcement officer.

Prosecutors said the victim provided a statement at sentencing describing her emotional trauma at going through this process. She stated that she supported a plea agreement that did not include jail time, because she did not want to go through a trial.
