SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A Southern Oregon truck driver made the trip to Salem this week to claim his $9.4 million Megabucks prize.

But first, he had a delivery to make.

Eric Tackett matched all six numbers on a $5 ticket for the Aug. 31 Megabucks drawing, winning the jackpot.

The Oregon Lottery said Tackett opted to take the lump sum payment and took home about #3 million after taxes.

Tackett works for Smalley Trucking Company in Sutherlin and routinely travels with his wife, Beth, up and down the I-5 corridor hauling steel.

It just so happens on the day he drove his truck north to claim the jackpot, he had a load to drop off.

"It was on the way," Tackett said.

Tackett said he and his wife bought the Megabucks ticket at the TA Truck Stop in Coburg, a regular stop of theirs.

"We know the lady who sold us the ticket. When she finds out, she is going to freak out," Tackett said.

The truck stop gets a 1-percent bonus for selling the winning ticket, making its share of the prize $94,000.

Tackett, who has been a truck driver for 17 years, said he plans to continue working.
