SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

The Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) is reaching out to Oregon students affected by the ITT Technical Institute closures.

On Tuesday, ITT Tech announced they were closing their doors, leaving many students wondering what to do next.

HECC is stepping in to inform local students from the Portland and Salem campuses of their options for moving forward with their degrees.

An email from HECC was sent to Oregon students on Tuesday notifying them about their options. The email included information on:

  • Transfer of credit to other schools
  • Transcripts
  • Federal Student Aid
  • Loan Discharge, U.S. Department of Education
  • Surety Bond Information

HECC wants to make sure that Oregon students are aware of their options.
