PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

After a stabbing left a Portland man dead, his family is remembering him for all the good he did for his community.

Martin Ochoa, 25, was found dead in his car near Northeast 111th and Fargo on Saturday.

His family told Fox 12 he was going to school at Portland Community College. Ochoa was active with the Multicultural Club at PCC.

Ochoa's family says he was a vibrant person who could talk to just about anyone.

"It didn't take long for people to feel connected with him. It seems as if there was an immediate connection with people from all walks of life," said Thomas Bettles, Ochoa's brother.

Police arrested 36-year-old Kelby Blaine Jake. He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of murder.

Police say Jake and Ochoa did know each other but haven't explained their relationship.

Jake is set to be back in court next week.
