PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Drivers will soon be able to get behind the wheel of a stylish car to get around Portland without the high price tag.

ReachNow is BMW's free-floating car-sharing service, and it is coming to the Rose City.

Drivers can download the service’s app to gain access to a mix of BMWs and MINIs scattered around the area, at a cost of 41 cents per minute to drive around.

ReachNow launched in Seattle back in April, and the company said it is now making its way south due to Portlanders openness to getting around without owning a car.

"The Portland community is focused on great ways to get around that don't involve necessarily owning a car,” ReachNow CEO Steve Banfield said. “There's a huge market here of people who like to bike, to take mass transit and have already been using car sharing."

The program will launch on September 19, and currently signing up for the app and a membership is completely free.
