The Portland Police Bureau identified Friday the man who was involved in a standoff with police after he barricaded himself inside a Northeast Portland home Thursday.

The Special Emergency Reaction and Crisis Negotiation teams responded to a house in the 3400 block of Northeast 81st Avenue before 3 p.m.

Police said 48-year-old Tony Brown had barricaded himself inside a home and refused to surrender despite officers’ demands.

After several hours, SERT officers used and explosive breach to open a door to the home and deployed multiple gas rounds into the home to get Brown to surrender.

Officers entered the house and arrested Brown around 10 p.m.

Brown is wanted for attempted murder, robbery and additional charges in connection with a domestic violence investigation.  He is set to appear in court Friday.
