PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A wanted Tacoma murder suspect may be in Portland, according to the FBI, and he is considered armed and dangerous.

The FBI obtained a federal fugitive warrant for 50-year-old Yancy Wade Ray on behalf of the Tacoma Police Department on Thursday.

Ray is facing charges of second-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Investigators said he shot and killed Hyson Sabb following an argument in the Hilltop neighborhood of Tacoma at 9:55 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators said Ray was fighting with a woman over drugs when Sabb tried to intervene, leading to the shooting.

Ray is a black man, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to use the street name "Slim" and the alias "Yancy Grayson."

He has ties to Tacoma and Portland, and the FBI reported Friday that he may be currently staying in the Portland area. Anyone who comes in contact with Ray should call 911.

A reward up to $1,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County for information provided to Crime Stoppers that leads to his arrest. Tips can be left at 1-800-222-TIPS.
