Salem man sentenced to 30 months in prison for promoting prostitution

SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A 39-year-old man was sentenced to 30 months in prison for promoting prostitution in Salem.

Marion County District Attorney's Office said David Wendell Fair, Jr was sentenced on Tuesday for his involvement in taking a woman from Portland to Salem in order for the woman to engage in prostitution.

Fair was seen dropping the woman off at a hotel and was then contacted by detectives from Salem's Street Crimes Unit, according to the Marion Co. Dist. Attorney's Office.

Fair was convicted of promoting prostitution following a jury trial. He will serve 30 months in prison.

Promoting prostitution is a Class C felony and carries a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison.
