Police: Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash in SE Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash with a vehicle in southeast Portland Tuesday night.

Portland Police Bureau said the crash happened on Southeast Deardorff Road near Flavel Street at 5:03 p.m.

When officers and medics arrived to the scene, they found the motorcycle rider, an adult male, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a Portland hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

PPB said preliminary information indicates the motorcyclist was driving northbound on Deardorff Road at a high rate of speed, crossed the center line and crashed into a vehicle that was driving southbound.

SE Deardorff Road is expected to remain closed for several hours while the Major Crash Team investigates.
