Pedestrian critically injured after struck by vehicle in Beaverton

BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

A 20-year-old man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle in Beaverton Wednesday morning.

Washington County Sergeant Bob Ray said he and other deputies responded to the crash at Southwest 170th Avenue and Southwest Farmington Road at 11:20 a.m.

According to Ray, Ryan Asbury, 20, was entering the crosswalk at the intersection when the driver, Julie Taylor, 75, failed yield the right of way and failed to obey the traffic control device and hit Asbury.

Taylor was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian.

Asbury was taken to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.
