PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police responding to multiple reports of gunfire at a north Portland park located one shooting victim on Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to McCoy Park at North Trenton Street and Newman Avenue at 4:08 p.m.

Officers located multiple witnesses and a man in his 20s suffering from a gunshot wound.

The shooting victim was being treated by medical personnel at the scene. The victim is expected to survive his injuries.

Fox 12 spoke with a neighbor who heard gunshots.

"I saw about five or six cop cars come up here, and I heard a lot of screaming and yelling. I knew something bad. I just want this neighborhood of ours to be safe," said Linda Dougherty.

There's no information about a possible suspect but officers have talked to witnesses to gather suspect information.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to speak to an officer at the scene or call the police non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.
