Police investigating reports of early morning gunfire in north Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police are investigating after receiving reports of gunfire in the Vernon neighborhood of north Portland early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the scene at Northeast 15th Avenue and Killingsworth Street around 3:15 a.m., and found evidence of gunfire. More evidence was found on Northeast 15th Avenue a block south.

Investigators said more than two dozen shots were fired. However, there were no victims found near the scene or reported at any are hospitals, and officers did not find any property damage from the incident.

Members of the bureau’s Gang Enforcement Team also arrived to work on the investigation.
