Police: Popular Oregon square dance caller arrested on child sex abuse charges

TUALATIN, OR (KPTV) -

A popular square dance caller has been arrested on sex abuse charges involving a child, according to police.

Charles William Garner, 55, of Tualatin, was arrested Friday.

He was booked into the Washington County Jail on multiple charges including third-degree rape, second-degree sex abuse, third-degree sodomy and using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct.

No other details were released about the investigation, but detectives said they fear there may be other victims who have not yet come forward.

Garner was a popular square dance caller in Washington County and Marion County over the last several years, according to police.

Tualatin police arrested Garner in conjunction with the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
