PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

One of Portland's biggest Chicago Cubs fan is having the night and the week of her life, and she's celebrating despite the fact that someone broke into her Chicago-style sandwich food truck and ripped her off.

Melissa McMillan, owner of the Pastrami Zombie truck in northeast Portland, is not only from Chicago, but she is a die-hard Cubs fan.

McMillan opened her Pastrami Zombie food truck in July, but when her Cubs made it to the World Series, she went back home for Games 4 and 5.

"Yeah, that was freakin' awesome!"

But here in Portland, something much less awesome was happening.

Thieves broke into the food truck and stole supplies and equipment, costing her nearly $2,000.

"My plane was delayed, a couple hours of sleep and my neighbors texted me a picture of my truck and it was pretty sad."

McMillan had to close for a couple of days to replace some things and make security improvements, but after sticking with the Cubs her whole life, she says she doesn't scare easily.

"I love this neighborhood. I'm not giving up on this neighborhood. I'm a Cubs fan! It's going to take a lot more than that to beat me down."

Portland police came out to take pictures and fingerprints. McMillan is hopeful they will catch the thieves.

Pastrami Zombie will be back open for business on Thursday.
