PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

One of the business owners affected by the natural gas explosion said the store has been hit by thieves.

Ritual Adornments, which stands right next to the building that exploded on Northwest 23rd and Glisan.

The owner, Joel Mikkalson, told FOX 12 not only is it shut down with extreme smoke and water damage from the blast, but the store was also looted by thieves in the days after the explosion.

"Somebody broke into the front door. Unfortunately, there was supposed to be a security company, he was doing his sweeps so someone was able to get in there."

Mikkalson said this has been one of the most stressful times he's ever experienced. He hopes to open back up in the same spot but right now, he's looking for a temporary lease in a new location and says those are hard to find.
