Man injured in shooting in southeast Portland

Police are investigating after a man was injured in a shooting in southeast Portland on Sunday.  

At about 5:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting on Southeast Powell Boulevard at 52nd Avenue, according to the Portland Police Bureau. 

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to a Portland hospital to be treated, and his current condition is unknown.

Preliminary information indicated that the shooter was in a silver pickup truck that drove away westbound on Powell Boulevard. 

Police say it's unclear what prompted the shooting, but it does not appear to be gang-related. Anyone with information is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.

Southeast Powell Boulevard will be closed in the area of 52nd Avenue while officers process the scene.
