Columbia County, OR (KPTV) -

Columbia County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested three people for hindering prosecution in the Apache Hightower homicide case.

On Monday, deputies served arrest warrants at a home in the 66000 block of Bishop Creek Road in Deer Island.

Randall Schwirse, 42, was arrested and charged with hindering prosecution and possession of methamphetamine. James Brewer Jr., 46, was arrested and charged with hindering prosecution and credit card fraud.

Deputies also served unrelated warrants and arrested Kevin Loomis, 34, for probation violation, and Mark Davis, 52, for failure to appear/violate court order.

Deputies arrested a third suspect, Shelly Edwards, 38, at a home in the 500 block of South 9th in St. Helens. Edwards was charged with hindering prosecution and felon in possession of a firearm.

CCSO said investigators developed information on Schwirse, Brewer and Edwards during the Hightower homicide investigation that led to the grand jury indictments for hindering prosecution, which is a Class C felony.

All five arrested were lodged in the Columbia County Jail.

Schwirse and Edwards are each being held on $60,000 bail. Brewer is being held on $30,000.
