MARION COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police are searching for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash along I-5 near Woodburn.

OSP said they received a report of a person lying in the median of I-5 near milepost 269 northbound around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Emergency crews arrived to find a man dead at the scene.

Troopers said evidence indicates that the man was hit by a car that had been traveling north on I-5.

The driver did not stop, according to OSP.

OSP said evidence left behind from the suspect vehicle indicates it was an early 2000s silver Ford Focus. It will have driver side damage.

Officials believe other motorists may have stopped at the scene and left before police arrived.

Anyone with information on this incident or about the suspect vehicle should contact OSP at 503-375-3555.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Troopers said the left lane of northbound I-5 will remain closed until late morning while they investigate.
