Police arrested a man Thursday suspected of burglarizing several food carts in Portland.

Charles Johnson, 32, was arrested on burglary charges, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

On Nov. 11, officers responded to the report of a food cart prowler around 10:50 p.m. in the area of 1331 North Killingsworth Street.

Police arrived to find that several food carts in the area had been broken into and vandalized.

Officers said many items were stolen, including a cell phone.

Portland police said they were able to track the phone to the area of North Mississippi Avenue and Fremont Street where they saw Johnson among the Mississippi Gateway Food Carts.

Johnson is also facing burglary charges with the Nov. 1 break-in of the Sherpa Nirvana food cart on Northeast 42nd Avenue, according to police.

Portland officers said Johnson was also arrested in connection with the October 26 burglary of Tina’s Corner Restaurant on Southeast 122nd Avenue.

Johnson is expected in court Monday.
