PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man with a gun who carjacked a woman in southeast Portland was last seen using the victim's credit card at a Plaid Pantry store in Milwaukie, according to police.

Officers received a report of a carjacking at 6:29 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said a man held a woman at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree store on the 6800 block of Southeast Foster Road.

On Wednesday evening the woman spoke with Fox 12, her name is Marianne and she asked that her full identity not be revealed.

Marianne says she was shopping at the Dollar Tree. When she came outside she was confronted by a man.

“Gentleman came up to me and said he wanted my car.” Marianne said. “When I said no, he showed me a gun and said I want your car.”

She told the man that she was not going to give him her car, and tried to jump in, lock the door and take off.

“Just as I approached the car he jumps in, so then I am stuck,” Marianne said. "I’m in the car and he is in the car at the same time now. What do I do? So he is still pointing a gun at me.”

The man told the woman to drive him to Southeast 20th Avenue and Powell Boulevard. The woman was able to escape in the area of Southeast 50th Avenue and Powell Boulevard.

Marianne says she told him she would give him her wallet but he argued and demanded her purse.

“'No I am giving you my wallet,' so he reaches his arm around me and he goes 'you don’t really want this to go down like this, this is not worth it, this is not worth it,'” Marianne said.

Marianne says she handed over her purse and as the man was pouring through it she got out of the car and took off. Marianne was able to get help from a man and woman, who let her use their phone to call for help.

She says they stayed with her until police arrived. She adds she is very thankful for the two strangers.

“There are some good people out there and it is nice to know that when you are in a jam that people do step in to help,” Marianne said.

Investigators said the man used her credit card at a Milwaukie Plaid Pantry store a short time later.

A surveillance image of the suspect from the store was released by detectives on Wednesday.

The suspect is described as a clean shaven white man in his 30s with blondish-brown hair. He was wearing a red and black San Francisco 49ers jacket and blue jeans. He was driving the victim's car, a black 2002 Subaru Outback with gold trim and Oregon license plates 366-CTH.

Crime Stoppers of Oregon is offering a reward up to $1,000 that leads to an arrest in this case. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
