SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

The holiday season is in full swing at the Oregon State Capitol.

A 30-foot-tall Noble fir, harvested from the Clatsop State Forest, arrived in the capitol rotunda Thursday morning.

Volunteer electricians with the NECA-IBEW local 48 and 280 chapters will set to work adorning the tree with lights and decorations ahead of the tree lighting ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

The event will kick off at 5 p.m. with performances from students at South Salem High School and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Daily performances also are scheduled throughout the month of December.

The annual Holidays at the Capitol celebration is funded through donations from organizations, business and individuals.
