Police ID body recovered from Willamette River near Swan Island

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Crews recovered a body from the Willamette River near Swan Island on Thursday morning.

On Friday, the medical examiner ruled that 63-year-old Charles E. Rasberry of Portland died of drowning. 

Multnomah County Sheriff's Office river patrol deputies responded to a report of a body in the water at 11 a.m. Thursday. 

Deputies were assisted by Portland Fire & Rescue in recovering the body from the river. The body was turned over to the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police said there are no signs of foul play in connection with Rasberry's death.
