PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police are investigating shooting that happened at a brand new food cart pod in northeast Portland.

Police said the shooting happened at 1:36 p.m. in the area of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Beech Street.

A new food cart pod just opened last Thursday in that area, which is less than a mile from the Portland Police Bureau's North Precinct.

Police said witnesses described a younger African American man shooting at a group of other men.

No one was hit by the gunfire, but it has certainly shaken up people who live nearby and the food cart owners who just moved in a week ago.

"I was looking forward to having affordable lunches here. It's too bad because I think the violence will discourage people from coming or discourage businesses from staying and I really want them to remain," said Treva Drake, who lives nearby.

Police are still looking for the suspect.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Police Non-Emergency Line at 503-823-3333.
