VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Detectives shut down a drug house after finding meth and stolen firearms inside a Vancouver home, and this isn't the first time detectives have responded to this home that happens to be directly across from a middle school.

William Rathgeber, 56, made his first appearance in court on Monday after detectives arrested him over the weekend.

On Saturday, detectives and SWAT served a search warrant at Rathgeber's home, which is directly across from Covington Middle School.

Inside Rathgeber's home, investigators found several ounces of meth, as well as nine weapons, some of which had been reported as stolen.

People living in the neighborhood say they're worried.

"I drive through that road all the time and you see kids walking down the street for, you know, going to school, coming back from school. A lot of people just said to bulldoze that house and get rid of it, which is another option, but it just needs to go away," said Emmett Mitchell.

Rathbeger is now facing 13 felony charges, including possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of stolen firearms and maintaining a drug house.

Prior to his arrest on Saturday, Rathgeber was out on bail from an arrest at the same house in May 2016, from which he faces charges of unlawful possession of firearms, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and running a drug house. Officers also noted that he is prohibited from owning firearms.
