LA CENTER, WA (KPTV) -

A woman upset over a breakup set the La Center home she shared with her boyfriend on fire, according to deputies.

Firefighters and deputies responded to the 4500 block of Northeast 372nd Street at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and found thick smoke coming from the eaves and doorways of a home.

A deputy heard a woman's voice inside the burning home, but was unable to enter through the black smoke.

Firefighters got inside and found the woman on the floor. She was rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.

When she was medically cleared, Cindy Clem was booked into the Clark County Jail.

Investigators said Clem was distraught over a recent breakup and called her ex-boyfriend to tell him she set the home on fire and made threats on her life. The man called 911.

Clem is facing the charge of first-degree arson.
