PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Storms packing heavy rain are slowing down many drivers around the Portland metro Thursday.

The National Weather Service issued urban and small stream flood advisories for the Portland area and western Willamette Valley.

The Washington Department of Transportation is reporting that portions of Interstate 5 in Vancouver are covered with water due to the continued heavy rain.

WSDOT said water was covering both sides of the roadway at milepost 1.8 at 4th Plain Boulevard, closing the off-ramp.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported high water at Highway 6 and Highway 47 and that Highway 219 was closed near Mountain Home due to flooding.
