Two men arrested after late night gunfire in Old Town

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police arrested two men early Thursday morning after responding to reports of gunfire in the area of Northwest 1st Avenue and Davis Street.

Officers arrived at the scene just before 2:30 a.m. and spoke with witnesses who gave them descriptions of the suspects and said the men were having an argument with people in another vehicle before the gunfire.

Police found two suspects matching the witness descriptions on Northwest 4th Avenue and Couch Street, one of whom dropped a handgun while struggling with the officers.

Both men were taken into custody and booked into Multnomah County Jail. Christian Emmanuel Ramirez-Sanchez, 29, who was arrested with the handguns, face multiple charges including felon in possession of a firearm. The other suspect, 27-year-old Carlos Fernando Ortega, faces a charge of possession of cocaine.
