FALLS CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A local man, who is believed to be one of the oldest men in Oregon, is celebrating his 108th Thanksgiving.

Earlier this month, Ard Stephens turned 108 and says he has a lot to be thankful for.

Stephens was born in 1908 and has had his fair share of Thanksgiving celebrations but one thing you won't see on his plate: turkey. His family says he's a vegetarian.

FOX 12 asked Stephens what else he thinks contributes to a long, healthy life.

"I was a finicky eater. When I was little I didn't like the taste of tobacco, so I didn't use tobacco. I drank a little liquor like all kids, but didn't like it, so I didn't really drink," said Stephens.

Stephens is one of nine children, he's also a husband and a father.

If you were to ask his family why he has thrived over the years, they would say it's his giving heart.
