Oregonians hit the shops, brace for rainy Black Friday

Posted: Updated:
WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

Many Oregonians braved the rain and hit the shops for Black Friday deals late Thursday night and Friday morning.

Locals can still expect plenty of rain for their big shopping day, but weather experts said it may not be quite as wet as the downpours seen on Thanksgiving.

Some heavy showers are expected throughout most of the day Friday, but the rain should let up by the late afternoon and evening hours, according to FOX 12 Meteorologist Joe Raineri.

Many shoppers have been working through the night to get the most out of their shopping experience.

Retailers at the Woodburn Premium Outlets are planning on staying open for 24 hours to give Black Friday goers a chance to shop.

Although lighter rain is expected Friday, areas of standing water may appear on the roads. Drivers should take their time on their commutes.  Those headed to the Woodburn Outlets should expect traffic due to the Civil War football game.
