Portland police arrest man suspected in shooting outside strip club

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police said Friday that they have arrested a suspect in a shooting outside of a strip club earlier this month where two women were injured.

On Monday officers took Claybourne Michael Crane, 26, into custody for the November 18 shooting outside of Jags Clubhouse at 605 North Columbia Boulevard.

When officers arrived at the scene of the shooting, they a 22-year-old woman inside the bar suffering from a gunshot injury who was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

While investigating the scene they responded to a report of a possible carjacking in the area of Northeast Broadway and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard that led them to a second victim, a 30-year-old woman, who was also taking to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Gang Enforcement Team and Gun Task Force joined in the investigation, which led them to Crane, who police describe as a documented gang member.

He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail and faces charges of attempted aggravated murder, attempted murder, assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, unlawful use of a weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of cocaine.
