Police: Armed man threatens cab driver in NE Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police are searching for a man who allegedly threatened a cab driver with a handgun in Northeast Portland early Monday morning.

Portland police officers received a call around 2:07 a.m. about an armed man threatening a driver in the area of Northeast 110th Avenue and Glisan Street.

According to the cab driver, the suspect was intoxicated and had been dropped off in that area shortly before officers arrived.

Police said one officer heard a single gunshot after arriving on the scene.

A K-9 unit responded to the incident, but officers were unable to locate the armed man.

He is described as a white man, about 25 years old, nearly 6 feet tall and armed with a small handgun.

Anyone with information on this incident should contact Portland police.

No injuries were reported.
