TUALATIN, OR (KPTV) -

Tualatin police arrested a 16-year-old boy after he tried to rob a woman at knife-point Sunday night.

Police said they responded to the report of an armed robbery located in the 18000 block of Southwest Boones Ferry Road.

Officers arrived to the scene and spoke with the victim who said she was walking along the path towards the Heron's Landing Apartment complex when a Hispanic boy approached her with a knife and demanded her bags. When the boy realized there were witnesses, he ran away from the scene empty handed.

Police said the victim did receive minor scratches on her back during the incident.

The 16-year-old, whose name has not been released, was lodged into the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center and charged with attempted first degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault.
