PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police across the Portland metro area and the FBI are investigating a string of burglaries at several Tan Republics.

Peter Lamka, master franchise owner with Tan Republic Portland, says there have been two dozen overnight burglaries at their salons. In the last few week, 14 were broken into, six in the last week.

Lamka says each of them have been caught on security cameras.

“It does appear to be the same group of people," Lamka said.

In one of the videos, you see the burglar smash a small front window and crawl inside. Another clip shows the person rifling though draws.

“Ripping out tills, ripping out safes, stealing as much product as they can, beating up equipment and in and out as fast as they can," Lamka said.

Lamka says the crooks have left behind clues suggesting this string of break-ins may be more than just a smash and grab.

“You hate us because we are progressive, you hate us because we are inclusive, you hate us because we are diverse as a company, we know that because you have left us those clues," Lamka said.

He adds the person, or persons, behind these crimes will eventually be caught. He says the crimes have created a stronger bond among employees who refuse to let this disrupt their day.

“You are only making us strong," Lamka said. "I hope you are ready to do some hard time because it is coming.”

The company is offering a $1,000 reward for info that leads to an arrest, they will also match that money with a donation to the charity of the person's choice.

Anyone with information on who may be behind these burglaries is asked to call police.
