HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

A hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a 75-year-old woman in Hillsboro has turned himself in, according to police.

Christopher Parmelee, 25, of Hillsboro, was interviewed by detectives Tuesday night and cited and released on the felony charge of failure to perform the duties of a driver.

Investigators said he hit a pedestrian with his Ford pickup on Minter Bridge Road near River Road at 4:50 p.m. Sunday.

The woman suffered serious injuries and remained in the hospital Wednesday.

Police asked for the public's help tracking down the suspect Monday. Officers said Parmelee turned himself in at the Hillsboro Police Department on Tuesday evening.
