Crews respond to rescue woman who fell 100 feet off of trail in the Gorge

MULTNOMAH COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Rescue crews from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office are working to rescue a 66-year-old woman who fell 100 feet down an embankment on a trail in the Columbia River Gorge.

Crews from the MCSO Trail Hornets rescue team, Multnomah County Fire District 14 in Corbett and AMR are responding to the scene.

According to the sheriff’s office, the woman is injured, but to what extent is unknown at this time.

Deputies say the woman was with a group hiking near the John B Yeon trailhead when she fell shortly after noon Saturday.

The sheriff’s office noted it would take at least an hour to get the woman back out of the area for treatment.
