PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Portland to "Stand Up Against Hate" Saturday afternoon.

The Portland Women March Against Hate event was held at Director Park in downtown Portland.

There were speakers and visualization exercises for people in attendance.

At one point the group marched through streets with a police escort.

The march was open to anyone who wanted to take part in the peaceful event.

This was the first event for the Women Against Hate group.

A similar march was also held in Seattle.
