PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Washington County deputies are searching for whoever stole a bicycle from a special needs man.

Deputies say Jason Eland’s bicycle was stolen from the Raleigh Hills Fred Meyer store at about 1:20 p.m. Friday.

Eland lives with his sister as he is unable to live by himself, according to deputies. His main daily activities consist of him riding his bicycle to the Fred Meyer, then to Washington Square.

Eland's family says his red Trek bicycle is "his whole life," according to a news release.

Deputies say video evidence shows a man watching the bicycle, then getting on it and riding away in an unknown direction. Deputies searched the area but did not locate the bike or the suspect. They are looking through surveillance video and other evidence.

The suspect is described a white male with short hair. At the time, he was wearing a dark coat and a blue backpack.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at (503) 629-0111.
