A Grants Pass man wanted in connection with a stabbing outside a Tualatin apartment complex was arrested in Portland, according to police.

The stabbing occurred in the parking lot of the Woodridge Apartments on the 11900 block of Southwest Tualatin Road at 4:45 p.m. Nov. 26.

Officers learned there was a physical fight between two men that led to the stabbing. The victim was stabbed in the stomach and buttocks. He was taken to a Tualatin hospital by friends and later transferred to a Portland hospital for further treatment.

An update on his condition was not provided by police.

The suspect had left the scene and was not immediately located. Statements from the victim and witnesses led to the identification of Samuel Corey Long, 34, of Grants Pass, as the stabbing suspect.

Tualatin detectives received information that Long was in Portland. With the assistance of Portland police, Tualatin officers took him into custody Friday.

He was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of first-degree aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
