A wintry storm is expected to hit the Portland metro area between 9 a.m.-noon Thursday. While the storm will bring wind, snow and freezing rain, there might not be as much precipitation as forecasts earlier in the week showed, according to FOX 12 meteorologists.

FOX 12 chief Meteorologists Mark Nelsen said most of the metro area will see a trace to 2 inches of snow. Snow will change to freezing rain during the afternoon.

Temperatures will hover near 32 degrees into the evening, with freezing rain turning to showers. Widespread ice should be expected on hills and the east metro area toward the Gorge.

TriMet has advised riders to consider adjusting travel plans and expect delays Thursday, as some buses will be chained up and can only travel 25 mph.
