VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A large tree fell onto a roof of a home in Vancouver early Thursday, injuring a 50-year-old woman inside.

Clark County dispatch officials said the tree partially collapsed the roof, trapping the woman inside a home in the 10000 block of Northeast 11th Street around 6 a.m.

The 65-foot blue spruce tree was planted a neighbor's yard when it fell sideways onto the house. Crews believe wind gusts may have caused the tree to fall.

According to her husband, the woman was asleep in bed when the tree came crashing down. Her husband was able to untangle her from the branches and get her out of the house.

The woman was taken to the hospital with a few cuts and scrapes but is expected to be okay.
