Nora, river otters enjoy their snow day at the Oregon Zoo

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

While many of the animals at the Oregon Zoo spent their snow day indoors, a recent addition decided the weather was just right to come out and play.

Nora, the young polar bear who made her debut to the public earlier this week, spent much of the day romping around the polar bear exhibit playing in the falling snow.

She was not the only animal to brave to colder temperatures, though.

A pair of river otters also decided to spend part of the day in the snow, even doing their own version of a “polar plunge” by taking a few swims.

The zoo was closed Thursday due to the weather, including the Zoo Lights event Thursday night. Zoo officials said they have not yet determined if they will open Friday. For the latest updates, log on to OregonZoo.org.
