A man who pleaded guilty in connection with a violent crime spree in Corvallis was sentenced to five years in prison.

Trenton Scott Huber, 21, pleaded guilty Friday to charges of attempted kidnapping, fourth-degree assault, coercion, menacing and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

He initially faced additional charges including first-degree kidnapping and third-degree sex abuse.

Huber was arrested on Jan. 31.

Police said his rampage began by choking an 11-year-old boy until the child's father forced him to let go. Huber threatened their lives, according to officers, before moving on to a woman driving a car in the area.

Police said he knocked on her window, asked for help and then pointed a gun at her and got into the backseat.

Investigators said he kidnapped the woman with a gun to her head and forced her to drive out of the area, before taking her phone, fondling her and hitting her.

The woman convinced Huber to let her out, police said, and he took off in her car. Huber was eventually caught after threatening a man with a knife and then entering a home through an unlocked door, according to officers.

Police said when he was taken into custody, Huber told officers he had not hurt anyone and asked them to give him a citation for minor in possession of alcohol so he could leave. Huber was 20 years old at the time.

Police said the crime spree lasted 29 minutes.

Huber was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty Friday.
