A Portland Police officer is facing drunk driving charges after he was arrested early Saturday by the Beaverton Police Department.

They say Sgt. Timothy Robinson was off-duty at the time of the arrest but was driving a city-owned car that is assigned to him as part of his job.

Robinson was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) – alcohol and was lodged at the Washington County Jail. He is an 18-year veteran of the Portland Police Bureau.

While this case is pending in Washington County, Robinson has been assigned to a desk job.

Once the investigation is complete, Portland Police say the event will be the subject of an internal review and presentation to the Police Review Board.
